Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferably with a focus on eDrive systems, power electronics, or electric machines)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the automotive industry, including 3+ years in project or technical project leadership roles
  • Proven background in power electronics, electric motors, driveline systems, and both hardware and embedded software development
  • Hands-on experience with complex mechatronic systems integrating electrical, mechanical, and software components
  • In-depth understanding of electrified vehicle architectures, hybrid/electric vehicle operations, and system-level trade-offs
  • Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in structured problem-solving techniques (e.g., 8D, root cause analysis)
  • Practical knowledge of ASPICE, Functional Safety (ISO 26262), and Cybersecurity standards
  • Familiarity with safety analysis tools and methods such as FMEA, DFMEA, FMEDA, and FTA
  • Excellent leadership and coaching abilities, fostering collaboration within multicultural, cross-functional teams
  • Fluent in English (German or French proficiency is a plus)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across departments and geographies
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 20%) and work flexibly when required

 


Responsibilities:

The System Project Leader provides technical leadership across all engineering domains, driving projects from concept to production.
System Project Leader plays a key role in developing next-generation eMobility solutions - including power electronics, electric motors, and driveline systems - while leading global cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on requirements, schedules, and budgets.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to a global engineering team to ensure the successful delivery of assigned projects or product lines
  • Conduct system-level activities such as requirements definition, architecture development, and design integration
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison for the customer, translating product requirements into actionable engineering tasks and deliverables
  • Interpret customer needs and translate them into feasible, competitive, and manufacturable product concepts
  • Lead technical assessments and negotiations related to change requests, evaluating cost, timing, and design impact
  • Manage trade-offs between hardware, power electronics, and eMotor domains to achieve optimal overall performance
  • Create and maintain detailed engineering schedules, monitoring progress throughout design, testing, and validation phases
  • Ensure all engineering deliverables are provided on time and to the expected quality standards
  • Partner closely with Program Management to align cross-functional engineering tasks and milestones
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks throughout the product development cycle
  • Define resource requirements and manage engineering budgets efficiently
  • Communicate technical project status and risks clearly to internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Support field and warranty investigations, contributing to root cause analyses and corrective actions
  • Ensure adherence to internal development processes and industry standards such as ASPICE, Functional Safety (ISO 26262), and Cybersecurity requirements
