Head Of RTR and TAX & Stats Delivery GBS

Job purpose:

Our Client is investing in building a Global Business Services Team in Krakow. Working as part of this team, this role will lead the Centre of Capability (CoC) for Record to Report including: Tax & Statutory Reporting, Record to Report and Cash & Banking areas.

This role will be responsible for the delivery of all Global Business Services scope in these areas and will ensure compliance with internal and regulatory tax and accounting requirements. The role is a new role established to provide the necessary leadership to support the implementation and continued growth within respective areas of the CoC.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant or hold a master's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Very good in English (C1)
  • 8-10 years of experience in accounting in the international environment - preferably SSC/BPO
  • Managing a team of 40
  • Ability to present data and findings in a clear and concise way
  • Specific tax skills and experience in Direct and/or Indirect Tax and/or Statutory Reporting
  • Demonstrable experience of building and leading teams
  • Ability to create a cohesive strategy and execution plan, and achieve results
  • Proven experience developing cooperative, productive relationships with people at all levels, within and external to the organisation
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills, including demonstrated supervisory, mentoring, and team-building experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experienced in applicable laws regulations and interpretations governing accounting framework, financial statements and disclosure, including IFRS and GAAPs
  • Ability to work and thrive in highly ambiguous environments with ever-changing priorities
  • Ability to adapt to different cultures, intercultural sensitivity

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the Finance and Accountancy BPO market
  • Previously worked in similar capacity within an international organisation preferably FMCG/tobacco


Responsibilities:

  • Deliver processes to agreed service levels including ensuring all returns, accounts and reports are filed on time in compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Operate based on the policies and guidance provided by the respective Centre of Expertise (CoE) and oversee the operation of tax and accounting controls for the Centre of Capability (CoC)  processes in line with the Governance Framework
  • Manage the handoffs and interactions with other parts of the operating models (Business Partners, In Market Teams and CoEs) as well as within the CoC itself
  • Escalation point both for the team and key stakeholders
  • Provide support on relevant business cases, project planning, design, implementation, testing, training, documentation, risk management and success measurement
  • Drive Continuous Improvement, Service Levels and Data Quality
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the business and contribute to setting the tone and culture for CoC and GBS
  • Oversee talent acquisition process and performance management process
  • Oversee the delivery of end-to-end process delivery across in scope markets and Group (including monitoring of spikes/peaks and troughs in activity and supporting on high complexity matters) for : RTR, Direct and Indirect Taxes and Statutory Accounting, Group Tax
  • Oversee and support of Group and local audits, Tax & Stats Managed Service Provider, third party service providers and more
  • Implementation into the CoC processes of new tax and accounting regulations
  • Identifying the root cause of compliance failings and resolving issues arising from process weaknesses
  • Support Transition Team in the transition of processes for the respective CoC, highlight risks with relevant stakeholders
