Accounting Team Manager with German Ref. No: 8049

According to the development of our client’s Shared Service Center in Krakow, we are looking for professionals who would like to develop their careers in international accounting structures.

Job Purpose

Accounting Team Manager for DACH & Poland region will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of books and records for several of operating entities. You will lead a team and coordinate the financial close process, review journal entries, and deliver solutions for open items.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Finance/Accounting
  • Experience with leading a team
  • English skills at least B2 level
  • German skills at least B2 level (fluency will be a plus)
  • Proficiency in financial reporting; US GAAP knowledge is required IFRS will be considered a plus
  • Proven VAT knowledge and Understanding of VAT Polish roles

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP or Hyperion (HFM/Essbase)
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Team player with a strong sense of personal responsibility and integrity
  • Strong proficiency with financial systems and applications; Advanced skills in Excel and MS Office applications
  • Experience with working in a global team


  • Manage an experienced reporting team of 3-5 professionals
  • Provide training and guidance for members of the assigned team
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide input into annual salary planning for team members
  • Perform month- and year-end closings, balance sheet and profit and loss accounts reconciliation
  • Preparation of the monthly, annual tax declarations including CIT, VAT, Treasury and Statistical reports/declarations, cooperating with the tax department/ local consultant in case of problems
  • Timely and accurate preparation and processing of accounting documents like accruals, prepaid expenses, deferred tax calculation, revenue recognition
  • Provide proactive support to internal/external audits
  • Payroll processing and cooperation with payroll provider (internal and external)
  • Collaborate on monthly/quarterly deliverables preparation
  • Liaise with external tax auditors and tax advisors to achieve compliance to local tax requirements
