Order-To-Cash Subject Matter Expert (OTC-SME) – Credit Manager Ref. No: 7568

Experience / Personal Qualities:

  • BA/BS or MS in Accounting required, CPA or MBA preferred
  • Professional credit risk certification and/or Professional accounting qualification
  • A proven leader that has 5 or more years of experience work experience as a Credit Manager, Credit Analyst or similar role in a global organization
  • Previous experience of leading a global credit control team with global responsibilities
  • Resourceful and keep abreast on all financial instruments used to mitigate credit risks. Excellent knowledge of credit risk protections/instruments and relevant obligations or covenants
  • Strong knowledge of credit related accountancy practices, financial controls and compliance obligations/audit requirements
  • Capable of directing the resolution of complex or unusual business problems while applying advanced analytical thought and judgment
  • Ability to analyse financial and operating statistics and provide meaningful feedback
  • Experience of governing credit risk in an evolving high-pressure environment
  • Good business acumen demonstrating sound judgement in economic and commercial decision making around all matters pertaining to OTC
  • Highly self-motivated, result driven and comfortable to work under pressures and tight deadlines
  • Have the ability to motivate and encourage a productive working environment
  • Clear and concise communication (verbal and written) with the ability to forge effective/collaborative relationships throughout the business, with business partners and with external contacts alike
  • A good knowledge of SAP S4 HANA is desirable. Additional language skills a plus


About The Role:

The OTC SME – Credit Manager will be responsible for:

Managing Credit Risks

  • Full ownership of all financial instruments used to mitigate credit risk (e.g. credit insurance), monitoring clauses or restrictions which introduce risk (e.g. maximum liabilities)
  • Manage contracts and insurance policies, challenging any contentious or unacceptable clauses
  • Provide specialist credit advice to ensure the granting of credit is appropriate and managed/authorised in line with policy
  • Propose/Own any alternative covers (guarantees, policies, SBLoC's, etc.) ensuring they offer adequate protection and appropriately approved
  • Liaise with brokers/insurers to manage migration to alternative covers as/when necessary
  • Proactive identification of credit limit needs by BU/Market to avoid credit limit restricting revenues generation
  • Regular engagement with insurers/brokers to forge productive relationships and endeavour to influence behaviours to meet business needs
  • Maintain appropriate credit administration, measurement and monitoring process
  • Support commercial business strategies/objectives by driving global strategy on credit as business process owner for OTC
  • Engage with senior management teams globally actively seeking opportunities to contribute to profitability and drive improved working capital utilisation
  • Provides input to update the Dyson Credit Policy and execute against it

 Transition of processes

  • Has thorough understanding of the processes related to the Credit Control
  • Oversee the transition of the processes and ensuring that work is transitioned timely and in line with expectations
  • Actively involved in ensuring effective stabilisation of processes transitioned

Leadership and Relationships

  • Manages the team of credit analysts and ensure collaboration with other teams in DBS and in other centres
  • Active engagement with Finance Directors to support them to achieve their business objectives
  • Engage with our BPO partner to ensure compliance to the Dyson Credit policies and processes and identify any improvement opportunities
  • Monitor and review the agreed SLAs and KPIs and ensure DBS is performing at the agreed level
  • Benchmark shared services organization against other companies and stay abreast of process trends and leading practices to formulate strategic direction and drive continuous process improvements
  • Leading on the local Corporate Social Responsibility agenda ensuring that DBS is a valued local corporate citizen
