Buyer Packaging Ref. No: 8051

For  Logistics & Packaging Purchasing department we are looking for a dedicated Buyer Packaging.

As the Buyer Packaging you will purchase and commercially manage a wide range of allocated packaging categories (varying from 3 ml syringes upto 1250 liter rigid IBC’s). In addition, you will be commercially responsible for 3rd party toll filling operations.

Requirements

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills and the ability to interact across functions, manufacturing organizations and suppliers
  • Relevant experience with purchasing of packaging materials for chemical products
  • Experience with launching and managing RFI, RPF and RFQ
  • Developed project management and analytical skills
  • Tenacious and results orientated with strong interpersonal skills and a customer (internal and external) oriented attitude
  • Min. 3-5 years’ experience in a commercial (negotiation skills) or supply chain environment
  • Knowledge of chemical products and hazard classification
  • Technical knowledge of packaging materials
  • Knowledge of IT/ERP (fx. SAP) & Ariba is an asset
  • Language requirement: English
  • Willingness to travel when required (up to 20%)


As Buyer Packaging you :

  • Will be responsible for the development and implementation of sourcing and supplier management strategies to achieve competitive advantage through lowest purchase cost and value improvement consistent with the direction
  • Will ensure the most optimal terms and conditions  while not negatively impacting service or quality. You are continuously looking for cost saving methods and initiate (tender) projects, in close collaboration with suppliers and the businesses to improve quality and explore opportunities for innovation and sustainability
  • Will closely monitor and report market trends and stay abreast of the latest developments
  • Will develop and maintain an up-to-date spend report by packaging type and supplier
  • Will work on multi business and global projects in order to continually standardize, improve and innovate  packaging requirements in line with business and customer requirements
  • Ensure all EHS and Legal requirements are met for Packaging items purchased in line with Policy and Regional and Global Legislation
  • Effectively interface with all manufacturing locations and business functions affected by packaging changes and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain effective Packaging specifications in line with Corporate requirements
  • Support the business with all relevant Technical enquiries regarding packaging
